Public Lewdness

In Alabama, a person commits the crime of public lewdness if he exposes himself in a public place and is reckless about whether another may be present who will be offended or alarmed by his act; or he does any lewd act in a public place which he knows is likely to be observed by others who would be affronted or alarmed.

Public lewdness is a Class C misdemeanor. Importantly, in Alabama, Public Lewdness is NOT a crime that carries Sex Offender Registration and Notification Requirements, making it one of the few sex offenses that does not have a lifetime punishment.
